Parish Life
The various parish ministries are opportunities to participate in the life of our parish by volunteering your time in service to your parish. Here is a very brief description of where we need volunteer participation. Training and mentoring will be provided to help newcomers as well as to refresh those with experience or questions.
Please contact the Office (204) 224-1669 ext 5 if you wish to volunteer for a ministry or if you want additional information. Our sign up form is found here.

Liturgical MinistriesMass Coordinators: The Mass coordinator arrives thirty minutes before Mass to ensure that everyone and everything is in place for the celebration of the Eucharist. This includes setting up the altar, vessels, and candles in the absence of the Deacon, and at the end of the mass purifying the sacred vessels in the sacristy. The Ministry of the Proclamation of the Word: Proclaimers are competent readers who make the Word of God come alive in the liturgy. They should take the time to read the Word during the week; people have come to hear the Word and to be inspired by it. They know it is God who speaks when they proclaim the Word. Hospitality: The ministers of hospitality are the first people who you see when you walk in the church and will be the people who are at the doors when you leave. The ministry starts thirty minutes before mass. They provide smiles, a warm welcome, identify newcomers and can answer any questions or direct people to the welcome table. Welcome Table: Parishioners and Newcomers can find answers to programming and various questions. Welcome Table hosts are present before and after mass. Presenters of the Gifts: These people bring the offerings of bread and wine necessary to prepare the Altar for the celebration of the Eucharist. During the offering they carry these items from the back of the church to the sanctuary where they are received by the presider or deacon. Extraordinary Communion Ministers: With reverence and faith they assist the priest in distribution of communion to the faithful. Music Ministry: Music ministry assists the worshipping community in song and praise. There are four groups within our parish serving as music ministers for the three weekend masses. |
